The Ark School

Our philosophy:
- We believe that we have the opportunity to create a better world by providing a secure, warm, and nurturing environment for your child. We believe our program should reflect the values of each respective family by offering positive, creative experiences and practicing social competence.

Community:
"Livermore is a city of 78,571 residents. Located approximately fifty miles east of San Francisco, Livermore is home to two world-renowned national laboratories, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratory. Livermore's heritage includes some of the oldest vineyards in California, and a tradition of cattle ranching. Today, our city continues to expand its wine-making industry and celebrate its cowboy tradition with an annual rodeo."
Staff:
Our teaching staff is composed of experienced, qualified teachers and support aides for each age group. The Ark maintains a maximum teacher-to-child ratio of:
- 1:5 for toddlers
- 1:7 for 2's and 3's
- 1:12 for our Pre-Kindergarten
Classroom structure:
The majority of children are transitioned from one classroom to the next as a group according to when the children are eligible to enter Kindergarten. The Livermore school district's cut-off date for eligibility is December 2nd. Children in our program are considered for transition according to their developmental abilities and maturation level as well as upon space availability in the next classroom. Each of our classrooms follows a basic schedule. The schedule is the same for each class, only the time frame is different. We do this so as a child moves from one class to the next class, they are familiar with the routine and only the classroom and the teacher are different. Because we do many large-group activities, your child will become familiar with our entire staff.
