Since 1968 Action Day Primary Plus has provided western Santa Clara Valley with the highest quality private education for children. We currently enroll more than 3,200 children in our fun, safe, and creative environments where children from infancy through 14 years can develop to their fullest potential. Additionally, our elementary and middle school programs consistently outperform other schools by scoring in the 90th plus percentile on national standardized academic tests.
Action Day Primary Plus started in 1968 as a single preschool. That preschool grew into today’s award-winning, renowned private education program with ten campuses and seventeen programs. The elementary and middle schools consistently score in the 90th percentile on national standardized academic tests.

John and Carole Freitas are the Directors of Action Day Primary Plus. Mr. Freitas is a member of the Board of Fellows at Santa Clara University, and a former Fremont High School District Teacher of the Year nominee. Mrs. Frietas taught high school and college for several years and holds a Masters Degree in Child Development and Family Relationships.
Philosophy
Over all the years of operation, we have maintained a philosophy that encourages what we call a "semi- structured program." Semi-structured means, to us, that we have a program put together by teachers and others that sets out specific goals each day, week and month for every child enrolled. The children are "led to" not "made to" take part in these activities. We feel that this semi-structured situation allows for specific growth and individual freedom. It is our hope that each child will leave at the end of the day feeling better about himself or herself equipped with the knowledge that they can accomplish tasks that they couldn't do when the day began. If we achieve this goal, we add tremendously to the resources that each child takes with him or her as they move up the educational ladder. It is our continued hope that we will be able to provide an environment that stimulates positive feelings as well as a sound curriculum for each child.
Extended Day Program
Learn and have fun in our Extended Day Program which is an extension of our academic day. A separate curriculum has been developed to bring our students a blending of academics, personal growth and self-understanding in a relaxed environment. Increased understanding of peer relationships is provided. A study hall time gives the student the opportunity to work with their extended day teachers and their academic teacher to assist in understanding their required homework. We also offer programs such as Young Rembrandts, Creative Cooking, Ceramics, and more through our extended day program.
- Young Rembrandts – learn to draw and paint in this fun and exciting program.
- Creative Cooking – learn to make fun things such as an Eifel Tower out of rice krispie treats.
- Ceramics – learn and have fun making and painting ceramics which can be great gifts.
- Computers – enhance your child’s computer skills with this educational and fun class.
