Our wines
- 2007 Russian River Sauvignon Blanc: Bright forward aromas of apple, kiwi fruit, honeysuckle and lechee nut. Flavors of lemongrass, melon and pear combine and lead to a fresh , crisp finish.
- 2007 Russian River Chardonnay: Classic Russian River Chardonnay exhibiting aromas of vibrant tropical fruit married to toasty oak. Full bodied, round, good depth of fruit, medium long finish. Flavors of citrus fruit, apple, lime, roasted nut and toasted oak.
- 2004 Napa Valley Merlot: Dark, rich and chocolaty, with layers of mouth-coating mocha, currant, blackberry and coffee grounds, revealing extra dimensions of depth and complexity. Sharply foused, long and intense, with well-integrated tannins.
- 2004 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: Concentrated and rich aromas of dark chocolate and black fruit are framed by toasty oak and vanillia scents. Full and juicy in the mouth, the flavors of currants and black cherry are supported by ripe tannins. Black fruit and toasty oak combine to form the lengthy finish.
- 2004 Napa Valley Syrah: Dramatic aromas of ripe blackberry, cranberry, dark fruit and roasted coffee. Earthy spice, toasted bread, leading to ripe black cherry flavors. Soft tannins leading to a long rich and viscous finish.
- 2006 Alexander Valley Zinfandel: Bright aromas of cherry and cranberry lifted by toasty oak. Flavors of chocolate covered raspberries, nutmeg and cinnamon spice and blackfruit combine into a full bodied wine. Firm tannins lead to a long finish filled with notes of dried cherry.
White Oak founder Bill Myers
During the 1970's, Bill came to the town of Healdsburg, California and purchased his first vineyard in the Alexander Valley and began to make wine. With his newly purchased vineyard, a tiny tasting room and wine production facility just off the square in downtown Healdsburg, Bill started making wines. He quickly became recognized for producing wonderful Chardonnay, Zinfandel and what was to become White Oak's flagship wine: Sauvignon Blanc. In 1991, Bill took home his first Sonoma County Harvest Fair Sweepstakes Award for his 1990 Sonoma County Chardonnay.
In 1997, Bill formed an alliance with Burdell Properties to pursue his vision of expanding the winery and thereby creating the foundation of today's White Oak. Don Groth and Burdell Properties brought over 750 acres of prime vineyards in Napa Valley and the Russian River Valley to the winery
Tasting Room
The estate is nestled amongst seventeen acres of Zinfandel vines dating back to 1929 and 1935. Bill then added small lots of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc to the estate. White Oak's new tasting room in the Alexander Valley opened in October of 1998. Our tasting room staff is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We participate in many of the annual Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley wine road events and members of our Wine Club enjoy four Winery events throughout the year.
