LA Connection Comedy Theatre

The LA Connection Comedy Theatre loves to teach, loves to perform. We love to laugh. We love improvisation. A safe environment of trust, support, growth, and freedom allows our performers to showcase their individual talent in a group dynamic.

Sketch Comedy. Over the years LA Connection has performed numerous sketch comedy shows. For example, Reno 911's Cedrick Yarbrough is seen in the photo in LAC's show Sketch, Lies and Videotape.
Longform Improv. Periodically LAC offers Longform improv. Longform improv is a two-format two-act performed by a cast that varies weekly-all members are Veteran All-Star level actors from LAC's repertory company. It starts with a 40-minute Act 1, a freeform romp in the all-new "Longassociation," where the performers play a multitude of characters. Very briefly, it goes like this. All of the scenes are strung together from two topics derived from the audience. However, each successive scene must start with some word association from the previous scene. Alternating weekly with "Longassociation" in Act 1 is the now-familiar "Longformation," which begins with monologues that are followed by scenes base on two topics supplied by that faithful audience. The actors again have free rein, as they transform scenes by physical and verbal changes based on body positions. Scenes vary, tying in the opening monologues or using only the topics.
Birthdays:
- For Kids 4-up. Three to four adult performers present a 1 hour improv comedy show in the style of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" The show consists of 10 interactive games tailored to the age of each party. Younger kids do physical games, fairy tales, sing-alongs, superheroes, characters, stories, and barnyard emotional symphonies. Older kids do sport take-offs, emotional symphonies, and more. The second hour food is served in our enclosed covered patio. One performer will help the parents with set-up, serving kids, and clean-up. Limit 90 people.
- Teens-Adults. Can also book private parties or get a group rate based on number of guests and ticket price. Shows are also in the style of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and geared to the age and group.
- At Your Location. Birthday parties may also travel to your location.
Serving up laughs to schools & camps all over the Southland. Bring your group on a field trip to our 100 seat air conditioned theatre. Our shows offer kids ages 5-18 a new interactive way to gain confidence, camaraderie, and the gift of humor through interactive comedy games. Can't leave your location? We'll come to you. For groups larger than 100 kids, we can also arrange for an off-site facility to accommodate your field trip needs.
How about hiring a teacher for an additional hour of Private Improv Instruction after the show? Have your kids take charge and perform some of the games they just saw. You may also hire instruction only for as many sessions as needed within your program.
