The Teachers of Dance, Dance, Dance
Sara Kempa: Sara performed at the American Choreography Awards & the Mandalone Project. In competition, she won Mss Teen Dance and a scholarship in New York City. Sara also attended a performing arts school in LA. 5th year at studio.
Lexi Magnuson: Lexi started dance at 8 years of age. She started as an assistant dance teacher for the Studio and was quickly promoted to a teacher. Lexi trained with the Tremaine Intensive Dance program and with the New York City Dance Alliance. 7th year at studio
Gary Gray: Gary started dancing at age 3. He studied tap and jazz at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City with Savion Glover as his tap teacher. Gary also studied at Debbie Allen's Dance Academy where he was in the primary cast of "Brothers of the Knight". 3rd year at studio.
Jessuca Bergman: She started dance at the age of 3. She studied ballet, jazz and lyrical under Candy Sherwin, Margaret Hyun, and Dennon and Sayhber Rawles. Jessica danced in 9 Dance Performances and choreographed A Midsummer's Nights Dream at Moorpark College. 2nd year at Studio.
Linds Tidemanson (owner): Linda started dance at age 5 in Pennsylvania. She studied at two of the top studios in the Pittsburgh area. She danced professionally in the Pittsburgh area and appeared on TV there. Linda taught at several dance studios prior to opening her own studio. Linda is a member of the Professional Dancer's Society.
Dance Studio Rules
To have a successful studio, there must be rules and discipline:
- No food, drink or gum allowed in Studio.
- Promptness is very important. Classes start on time.
- Jazz and Hip Hop students are required to wear comfortable clothing. No "jeans" permitted. You cannot stretch in jeans.
- Jazz students are to wear jazz pants.
- Appropriate dance shoes are required for all dance classes.
- Hip Hop students are required to wear black jazz shoes or black hip hop shoes. Regular tennis shoes are not permitted.
- Students are promoted to higher classes at the teacher's discretion. It is not automatic that your child will be promoted. You need to speak with the teacher in June.
- No excessive jewelry. A single chain necklace is acceptable. Students wearing too much jewelry will be asked to remove it.
- Dance shoes are not to be worn outside on sidewalks, parking lots, and etc. The oil, grease and dirt destroy the shoes and the dance floor.
- The studio only uses black patent leather buckle tap shoes and pink ballet shoes. Both shoes may be purchased at the studio.
Dance Studio Policies
- Students should not miss class unless there is a good reason.
- Attendance is extremely important all year and especially from April through June. This is the time to perfect the dance numbers.
- If a student has missed 3 classes in a row without the studio being informed, their name will be taken off the class roster. Please inform us when your child(ren) will be absent for a period of time and their place will be saved.
- Always check the bulletin board for new information.
- Information will be handed out to the students throughout the year, so be sure to ask if something was given to them.
We're looking forward to a fun and rewarding year. But don't kid yourself; it takes work and practice to become a good dancer.
