L. Francesca Ferrari is a Master of Medical Qigong from the International Institute of Medical Qigong. She treats her patients with acupuncture and/or Qigong using healing sounds which vibrate Qi stagnations and trapped emotions. For those comfortable with acupuncture, disposable needles are used.
At Ferrari Center of Chinese Medicine, an initial visit requires approximately two hours. The initial intake package includes an extensive questionaire regarding past and present symptoms, family history, diet, supplements, and current medications. Copies of recent laboratory tests are appreciated. Further verbal inquiry based on Traditional Chinese Medicine will follow with observation of tongue analysis and pulse analysis.

- Traditional Chinese Medicine. The continuous goal in Traditional Chinese Medicine is to seek harmony and balance. The beauty of Traditional Chinese Medicine blossoms from the multi-dimensional perspectives through which balance can be attained. Balance between Yin and Yang, balance between the Five Elements (water, wood, fire, earth, metal), balance between body, mind, and spirit (Jing, Qi, and Shen) and balance between Qi and Blood.
- Medical Qigong Therapy. Medical Qigong is an ancient treasure of Chinese energetic medicine, and is one of the oldest branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). “Qi” means life force energy while “Gong” means practice or skill. Qigong is a venerable system developed in China to increase the movement and absorption of Qi, life force energy. Medical Qigong therapy gives patients an opportunity to relax deeply into their bodies. As patients are invited to drop into their breath, the Medical Qigong practitioner clears any energetic stagnation from their energetic fields (Wei Qi fields). Effects of Medical Qigong may manifest as sensations of warmth, tingling, coolness, or enhanced energy.
- Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis. The uniqueness of Traditional Chinese Medicine emerges through a plethora of diagnostic systems. Based on wholeness, balance and harmony, Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostics spiral like a multi-dimensional collage. All individuals are unique. Rather than processing information in a linear fashion, Traditional Chinese Medicine proceeses information in terms of relativity.
- Acupuncture. It involves pre-sterilized disposable needles used in specific acupuncture points located on meridians. Each meridian is associated with a particular physiological organ system. Like streams flowing along the body, the meridians traverse from the surface of the skin and connect to the depths of an organ system.
- Ear acupuncture (auriculotherapy). Ear acupuncture is a favorite modality used by Francesca Ferrari to quickly relieve pain, to quickly eliminate inflammation, and to quickly reduce fever. Additionally, ear acupuncture is used for the prevention and treatment of chronic conditions.
Seminars. Students will become familiar with theories of Yin and Yang, Qi, and Differential Diagnosis. Included in this introductory course are basic theories of the following: Yin and Yang, Tongue Diagnosis, Five Element Theory, Eye and Ear Diagnosis, Eight Principle Theory of Diagnosis, Symptoms of Qi and Blood Disharmony.
