The History of Pacific Hospital of Long Beach
Pacific Hospital of Long Beach is a full-service, teaching hospital with 184 licensed acute care beds. We are fully accredited and have all the innovative technology that is expected of a medical center but with an important difference. Our environment is small enough to assure patients of calm, homelike surroundings while providing a capable, professional staff. The result is a perfect blend of sensitivity and technology. Our history stretches back to 1932 when Pacific Hospital was founded by a group of civic minded citizens and doctors.

Cardiopulmonary
Cardiology Department
Newly expanded services, offered by cutting edge technologist; Echo Tests, Stress Echo Tests, Cardiac Holter Monitoring, and EKGs (Electrocardiograms).
Respiratory Department
Inpatient and Outpatient services, which include breathing treatments, long and short-term ventilator care, oxygen analyzation, Spirometry, Pulmonary Function studies and more.
Neurology Department
Meet our Neurologist, who may have the best “bedside manner” in Southern California. Several different types of tests are offered such as: EEG’s, EMG’s and NCV’s.
Epidemiology
Epidemiologist / Infection Control Professionals (ICP’s) include physicians, medical technologists, microbiologists, nurses environmental health specialists, and others. Hand hygiene continues to be a major focus of the Infection Control (IC) program today. The IC program is essentially a patient and staff safety program based on surveillance, prevention and control of infection through observation, education and good clinical practice techniques.
Family Health Clinic
The Family Health Clinic of Pacific Hospital of Long Beach provides a wide range of services to the community including complete medical care, OB care, family planning and dermatology clinic.
Physical Medicine
Teaching a knee replacement patient to walk again, helping a stroke patient "re-learn" daily tasks in order to be self-sufficient, determining the food type/ consistency that is safe for a patient to consume after suffering a medical setback: These are just a few examples of the duties performed by the Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy staff at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach. Our mission is to assist our patients to restore function after a surgery, illness, or medical setback. We do this by providing care tailored to our patient's specific needs.
