The Vein Clinic of Monterey Bay
Our Clinic's Board Certified Surgeons, use the latest and most effective treatments that are virtually pain-free and are covered by most insurance carriers.
Vein disease occurs when veins have trouble carrying blood from your body back to your heart. Increased pressure in the veins, such as that caused by prolonged standing, pregnancy, and blood clots, is the usual cause of vein diseases, such as varicose veins.
Varicose veins may also be hereditary. You are at higher than average risk if your mother or grandmother - or even someone on your father's side - suffers from serious vein problems. And, due to pregnancy women are more often affected than men.
Varicose veins can become inflamed and painful, and may form ulcers as well. They can be treated by destroying the main incompetent vein, followed by sclerosing or surgically removing the individual varicose veins.
Treatment We offer a range of traditional and state-of-the-art treatment modalities depending on the treatment plan designed specifically for you by our board-certified physicians. All treatments are done in the comfort of an out-patient setting and patients find themselves resuming normal physical activities within a day.
The first step is an ultrasound examination, which will give us a real time and detailed view of your varicose vein system. Since each patient is unique, the results of this ultrasound will help us determine the optimal treatment plan to eliminate abnormal veins.
