About our children programs
When you, as your child's parent, are concerned that there might be a problem, there usually is a problem. There are proven ways to diagnose and then deal with the problem - the sooner the better. The best way to get started is to call or email us to discuss your situation, and then to make an appointment for an evaluation.
The Center for Speech, Language and Occupational Therapy offers treatment and hope to children who have communication, movement, and sensory integration disorders. The Center relies on referrals from pediatricians and prior clients. Parents initiate the process with a phone call and schedule an intake interview in which the therapist collects a history, discusses valuation procedures, and explains treatment options. The child is then evaluated through formal testing, observation, and speech and language samples. Diagnosis of speech, language, movement, and/or sensory integration deficits is often secondary to other issues such as developmental delays, cognitive limitations, or pervasive developmental disorders, including autism.
About our staff
The staff of the Center for Speech, Language, and Occupational Therapy, Inc, are all licensed and certified professionals in communication and/or movement disorders who are available to consult with physicians, educators, administrators, program directors, parents of children experiencing speech, language, and motor-related disorders.
President and Executive Director Brendan O'Connor Webster, M.A., CCC, holds a California State License and National Certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist. Serving children and adults since 1974 and in private practice since 1978, she has lectured, provided consultation, and specialized in evaluating and treating the language and learning disabled as well as the developmentally disabled. Mrs. Webster is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, the California Speech and Hearing Association, The American Academy of Speech Pathologists and Audiologists in Private Practice, and the International Fluency Association.
Brandi Quinsay, MA, CCC-SLP received her Masters degree from San Jose State University in 2000. She holds a California state license in speech pathology and ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). She officially joined the CSLOT staff in June 2000. Brandi’s professional experience and interests are primarily child articulation and phonological delays, child language delays, pragmatics/social-language delays and early intervention. Brandi has been trained in both Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the SCERTS model (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, Transactional Support). She has 9 years experience working with children with Autism. Brandi is the supervisor of the Early Intervention Clinic in San Jose and coordinator of the Early Intervention Clinics and SCERTS program company-wide.
