Hello and welcome to Mercury Tutors. We are a network of professional math, science, English, Spanish, and SAT tutors in the South Bay cities of Redondo and Manhattan Beach, Torrance, El Segundo, Palos Verdes, and most other 310 cities. The network has been based in the South Bay since 2005 and as such we have a well rounded knowledge of the local curriculums.
Each tutor makes his/her own rate and is paid directly. This set up allows the tutors to charge less and keep more, which in turn attracts the best tutors into our network. I have hand-picked each tutor and only accept those of the highest caliber into the network....checking their backgrounds, references, and past employers, and following up with current families.
Our Tutors:
Sherry has been in our tutoring network for over two years and has done a fantastic job. Before tutoring with our network she taught students during most of her time at college. She is a recent graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a major of earth science.
With her science degree and many courses in advanced chemistry, algebra, and calculus, she is able to tutor all high school levels of math and science, including AP courses and chadwick courses and many college courses as well. She is a great choice if your student is in one of the more difficult AP courses in math or chemistry or if you have a student who is at the college level in math or science.
Elena is available to tutor math, science, English, and Spanish in Palos Verdes, Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, San Pedro, and Long Beach.
If you are looking for someone to tutor all subjects at the high school or middle school level Elena is a great choice. She got her bachelor's degree in English from UCLA in 2002. She began tutoring while still in college and for several years now has been a full time tutor in private practice. In addition to being a great English tutor she also tutors just about every other subject through the high school level, including all math courses through pre-calculus and algebra two, the sciences with biology and chemistry, and all Spanish courses from one to four AP. (Elena grew up speaking both Spanish and English.)
Laura will be entering her senior year at LMU for the 2008/2009 school year. She lives on the campus at LMU and is available to tutor algebra, geometry, science, biology, and chemistry in the cities of Playa Del Rey, Culver City, Manhattan Beach, and many other cities within a 20 minute drive form the LMU campus not listed here.
She got her start tutoring in high school, but didn't really focus on it until she joined the tutoring center as a freshman at LMU. Once there she learned she had a gift for explaining difficult math and science concepts.
